Edge General Contracting is run by a husband and wife team - Eric & Aimee
Eric is the mastermind behind the construction at Edge - If you can envision it, he can make it come to life. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, he decided to go out on his own and form his own company. He balances new age construction methods & materials with tried and true, age old building techniques. He is always on top of every project he manages and is great at communicating with employees and sub-contractors alike to ensure each job runs smoothly start to finish. He is a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic, and continues to serve as a medic for the National Guard.
Aimee does all things business for Edge, but isn't afraid to show up on a job site and get her hands dirty. Her love for the housing industry started at a young age. A “Mainer” born and raised, her interest in buildings & architecture started at her parents apartment buildings where she would earn her allowance spackling, sanding, and painting walls. While earning her business management degree, she focused on marketing, human relations, and leadership. At the age of 20, she purchased her first multi-family home and did many improvements. She also is a Realtor & owns Maine Realty located on Congress Street in Portland. This proves valuable for EDGE, as she brings a different view of homes compared to the traditional construction company. Acquiring loans and determining your budget are easier with a professional pre-construction & post-construction market analysis created by Aimee.
As a young adult, Wayde started his own construction side business. With over 40 years of experience in the building industry, he specializes in both residential & commercial construction. Starting at Hannaford at the age of 16, he stayed with them for for 35 years - 25 of those years as a facility project manager. He was responsible for overseeing general maintenance & capital projects (i.e., rooftop unit replacements, roof replacements, parking lot replacements, case changes, cooler abatement & replacements, scheduling projects & anything to do with the building envelope.) Over the years, him & his wife bought multiple debilitated apartment houses & extensively remodeling them.
Wayde is an easy going guy but runs a tight ship and is the definition of a good leader. He is a great teacher and enjoys sharing his knowledge. When he is not running projects, he enjoys spending time with his wife at their camp in the Katahdin Region, or remodeling their vintage camper to take around the state. The adventure never stops!
After spending his last few years in San Diego California selling corporate golf tournaments at Torrey Pines and other championship grade courses in the area, AJ has decided to take this time to reinvent himself and get back to the type of work he truly loves.
This Ohio native has spent a good portion of his summers assisting with various housing renovations throughout Central Maine. Anything from cabin construction, roof repair, apartment building renovations, creation of a boat dock & swimming platform, garage, or even woodshed. He does not mind getting dirty when it comes to demolition and shows a passion to learn something new each day! He is a hard-working individual that thoroughly enjoys working outside and plans to expand his vocation within the trades by surrounding himself with top talent on the work site.
When AJ is not at work, he and his girlfriend Chelsea can be found in the Weld, Maine area, hiking, camping, or relaxing on the lake. He is also a huge sports fanatic when it comes to Cleveland and Columbus sports teams, but has embraced the New England way as well!
Alex is a frame to finish carpenter with 10 years combined experience in residential and commercial construction. Prior to Edge, he spent three years as a field carpenter working on large-scale building projects for a commercial construction company. He assisted with many skilled tasks from foundation preparation and pouring concrete, to framing buildings and installing multiple types of modern exterior siding and trim. Alex also spent 6 years as an independent contractor. During that time he focused most of his efforts on cabinet and trim installations ranging from hospitals and schools to multi million dollar home renovations. With all that experience comes a well-rounded skill set and a keen eye for detail.
He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as an infantryman. He is no stranger to a challenge and prides himself on customer satisfaction. Alex is inspired daily by his wife and two children. On his free time he likes to enjoy family movie nights, fishing with the kids, and working in the garden.
Rick knew he wanted to be a carpenter ever since he was a young boy after watching a carpenter performing work at his home. He was instantly fascinated and determined to be a carpenter someday. He attended Rumford Schools where he studied Building Trades.
He worked for many established construction companies over the years and ran his own carpentry business for five years. Rick has 30 years of extensive experience in carpentry, and in-depth knowledge of the entire construction process.
Rick worked for the City of Portland for eight years as a maintenance supervisor and completed some municipal construction projects. Most recently, he worked for a local building company in Portland for the last four years before joining Edge.
